We have recently discovered that a fairly new tool on the Internet has made some new additions/upgrades to it, and have been having so much fun with it that we've decided to share it with our viewers!
We, as Caribbean people, are always so proud when we've been "put on the map", through our sports stars, beauty queens and so much more... but NOW... we are ACTUALLY ON THE MAP..... LITERALLY!
Introducing......
Google Earth is a program that brings the whole world right to your computer. Aerial shots of cities all around the globe have been taken, and this technology enables us to zoom right in and see everything from roads and buildings to even cars and trees!
Here's an example:
Imagine the fun you'll have following the roads and finding places you know!
We have already gotten it started for you, by "pinpointing" some of the landmarks that we could find.
To get this program (it's FREE!), simply go to http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html and hit the "download" button.
Once you have the program, you can start right away by zooming in to your desired location.
Here is our collection of landmarks, which we will be updating often. To view any of these, simply click on the name, download and unzip the file. You can then open up the *.kmz file with the Google Earth Program.
We will be updating this collection periodically, as we get more landmarks in place. Please feel free to keep downloading as we update it.
Also, if YOU find any landmarks that you think we should add, please email us with the co-ordinates, or your Google Earth placemark file (*.kmz file) and we'll add it to our collection.
Google is constantly upgrading this program and we are sure much more features to be added. Please note that not everywhere in the world has been photographed and posted as yet so there are some locations in the Caribbean that may not be available.
