SOUTHEX EVENTS - The 15 artistes pulled for performing positions ‘live’ on the CNMG Network on Wednesday morning as the build up to the Grand Finals of the 2011 NLCB Chutney Soca Monarch heats up.
The Final scheduled for Saturday 19th February at Skinner Park, San Fernando is expected to be one of the biggest and best productions for Carnival 2K11.
Millions will be spent on putting things in place for Saturday’s event with a special 100ft curved backdrop being designed and custom built for the set of the show. The split level stage will also feature a spectacular lighting and special effects show as many of the artistes vie for the top prize.
The opening ceremony will also feature a 35 minute choreographed piece that highlights many aspects of the culture of Trinidad & Tobago.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Evolution’.
This will be the first major Monarch to be crowned for the carnival season, and it will be the first ‘2M’ winner to benefit from the special initiative put in place by the Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar.
The Prime Minister and the Minister of Arts and Multiculturism, Honorable Winston Peters, will be expected to be at the Skinner Park when the winner is announced to make a presentation to that person.
Several other Government Ministers are also expected to be in attendance.
The Grand Final of the NLCB Chutney Soca Monarch will also feature full concert performances by Machel Montano HD, Karma and 3Veni.
The event will also feature for the first time an all-inclusive VIP area at the front of the stage that will have separate parking and a separate entrance.
