41 To Take The Stage At Rienzi Thursday, February 3 2011
Southex Events - The Semi Final round of the NLCB Chutney Soca Monarch will take place this Saturday 5th February at the Rienzi Complex in Couva.
41 artistes have moved forward to this round of the competition, and it is expected that there will be a fierce battle as only 15 will move forward to the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 19th February at Skinner Park in San Fernando.
The NLCB Chutney Soca Monarch is celebrating 16 years and it is expected to be the biggest and most exciting year ever in the history of the competition.
It has become a ‘Race for 2 Million’ as artistes will be vying for the first time ever 2 million dollar first prize promised by the Prime Minister The Honorable Mrs. Kamla Persad Bissessar.
The semi final round will also see artistes from Guyana, USA and Barbados competing against the best of Trinidad.
One person at the semi final round will be voted into the Grand Final via the text and online voting system. All voting procedures are available through the official website at www.chutneysocamonarch.com.
The largest group in orange this weekend will also win a $5000 cash prize courtesy Blink Broadband at Rienzi Complex
The power to choose the winner at the Grand Final will be squarely in the hands of the people, as we follow trends for International events all over the world.
The NLCB Chutney Soca Monarch continues to be the largest, most important and most expensive Indo-Caribbean production for the annual Carnival celebrations. It continues to also be the biggest platform and launching pad for Indo artistes from Trinidad & Tobago and the region to move on to performance stages all over the world generating foreign dollars for themselves and Trinidad & Tobago at large.
